I’m Denzel Balois, a creative instigator and music artist, co-founding Blinds Creative. I spin ideas into stories, layering humor, design, and a dash of irony to reshape how people see the world. My skills blend conceptual thinking, digital craft, and an eye and ear for detail to make engaging work that nudges, amuses, and occasionally provokes. Everyday life can be significant, that’s what it’s all about.

Hi, I’m Denzel. I’m the kind of person that actually has a favorite song. I’m the kind of person who watched interstellar 7 times and still plays Zelda Ocarina of Time. A person who loves Teslas not for the looks, but for their whoopie cushion function. The kind of person that is perfectly able to sleep after drinking 2 cups of coffee in the evening. I’m the kind of person that hyper-fixates on random stuff like, soldering and programming LED lights, coding a website, playing in TouchDesigner, or designing the most advanced deck anyone has ever seen in Keynote. I’m someone that believes that seeing through eyes is a superficial way of understanding our world. Seeing is believing they say, but I can “see” things long before I’ve seen things. No, I’m not delusional, I’m a believer.

A believer is someone that knows without proof. I knew that I could write, direct, shoot and edit a music video. Never done it before. Nailed it! Just like I know that every challenge I’m going to face is going to make me better than I was before.

I used to be a dreamer, though. Someone that thought “That would be sooo cool!”, instead of “That will be sooo cool!”. After studying music production at the Herman Brood Academy, I was determined I would be a professional music producer or composer. But I noticed that sitting hours alone behind my desk started to weigh heavy on me. I needed people around me. This was the catalyst of throwing my whole career overboard to study advertising at the Willem the Kooning Academy. Starting this study made me realise I was more than a music producer. I’m a storyteller. Stories that motivate us to learn from the past, live in the present and look at the future. Not with our eyes, but with our hearts.
